SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY DIVORCE ATTORNEY
There is nothing more important to us than family. Whatever it is we do with our education, our careers, where we want to live—we make those decisions based on what we think will be best for our families. So when it comes time to make the difficult decisions that must be made during times of family strife, you want someone who has stood in your shoes and understands how vital it is to protect your best interests and those of the ones you love most. You also want someone who can help you to think not just in the short term, but how things will look years down the road when the immediate turmoil is long past.
A Plan That Works For You.
With everything that’s already going on in your life, now you have to wonder, “How am I going to pay for this?” The good news is that I will do my very best to work with you to put together a plan so that you can afford the legal help you need. In some cases, the traditional retainer and hourly billing method are inescapable. That said, click here to learn more about how we can work together to put together a plan that works for you.
Custody Planning.
When and how often will you see your children both during the divorce process and following it is usually a concern for both parents. Please click here to learn more about child custody and visitation and how you can be prepared for it.
Child Support.
How much you will receive or how much you will need to pay in child support will depend on many different factors. To get a better understanding of what a court looks at in order to determine child support, please click here.
Abuse.
If you or someone you know is suffering at the hands of an abuser, or if a restraining order has been wrongfully issued against you, please click here to find out what can be done to protect you, your family, and your reputation.
The type of representation you need will depend on your case. Certainly, some cases do require what’s popularly referred to as “aggressive” representation, and I can certainly do that. More often than not though, most cases require patience, finesse, and a thorough examination of all the potential issues involved in the case. This is important because while each case will have similarities to other cases, your individual matter will likely have its own unique shades of grey, which means that your representation must be based on your particular needs.

So will you need a lawyer to handle it for you? Well, there’s no law that says you are required to hire an attorney for your family law case, but the better question is this: should I hire an attorney? And the answer to that is an emphatic yes. Even in the simplest divorces, you want to be sure you’re getting what you’re supposed to get or that you’re not paying more than you should. Most importantly, you want a durable agreement; one that will hold up in court if things don’t work out how you’d hoped. Remember, your peace of mind is worth something.

Please contact me at your earliest opportunity so that we can discuss your matter. If you don’t need an attorney, I will tell you that. However, you most likely do. To learn more about the issues you may be facing, please click on Practice Areas.
